Controversy and confusion surround the dramatic question of Slave trade






Afrofonia, September 1st, 2010
A weekly programme of Vatican Radio, entirely dedicated to Africa. It goes on air every Wednesday on 105 FM and via the internet (channel 5) at 16:32.

In his comments, Pope John Paul the second referred to this trade as the forgotten holocaust. Today, this horrible business continues to exist in different forms of exploitation of human beings. In the Afrofonia, Albert Mianzoukouta and Marie-José Muando Buabulo, examined the new practices of slavery, but different from the trade in human beings that lasted four centuries and which uprooted 60 million people from Africa and exported them to Europe and America:
