Accra, the plenary assembly of the SECAM

Afrofonia, 4 August 2010 A weekly programme of Vatican Radio, entirely dedicated to Africa. It goes on air every Wednesday on 105 FM and via the internet (channel 5) at 16:32.
In this edition we focus again on the 15th plenary assembly of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar, SECAM, which ended two days ago in the Ghanaian capital, Accra. Before the plenary meeting began, delegates took part in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of SECAM. The body was inaugurated by Pope Paul the sixth in 1969 on pastoral visit to Uganda. Maria Dulce Araujo was in Accra to cover these events. From Accra she interviewed His Grace Charles Palmer Buckle, the Archbishop of Accra and Treasurer of SECAM.
